The rescue of a air force pilot whose bailed out deep in enemy territory is the background for a more personal story, as Sgt. Zeke receives a rare letter from home. His ex-wife sends a friendly message about their daughter, who is growing up fast.

Zeke Anderson is a man scarred by combat. On his third tour when we first meet him at the very beginning of the series, he's found himself in a vicious circle where the army life distorts his personal relationships, which in turn pushes him back into the field.

But when his wife asks him to write to his daughter, Anderson suffers a crisis of confidence. A sudden realization that life beyond the daily grind of keeping his men alive is possible and that in the end, maybe there is something to go home for after all…
